Forest Heart II

Forest Heart II 2017 Oil on wood 180 x 110 cm Life is cyclical and its repetitions are infinite. In dying we give life of something new. Aging and death are inevitable. But the desire to live and be reborn, the strive toward the sun and light in every living being, is all-encompassing and indestructible. This energy makes life sprout through the veil of death. This energy flows through veins and roots. This energy pulses in our hearts. And the rhythm beats endlessly.

Abandoned

Abandoned 2015 Oil on canvas 100 x 170 cm The idea for the painting arose as a reflection on current world events – refugees. Refugees from war, from violence, from economic crisis. We are witnesses to a great migration of people. This massive mechanism grinds people, families, and the destinies of entire nations like a mill, casting aside the weakest and most helpless. The crowd continues to run, fight, struggle for rights, for life, for a piece of bread, while the weakest are sacrificed. While working on the painting, I realized that this piece also reflects my own inner feelings and experiences – at times, I felt like an abandoned dog, and the noise of the surrounding environment made the sense of loneliness even sharper and clearer.
